'Now' is a term that represents totally a different meaning in spirituality than what we usually think of. It's not about past, present, or future. It's about being aware of the space around us. It's where things can happen or not happen. Some people say we should be mindful to be more aware, and pay attention to the little things or what we do. That's one way for the soul to be released temporarily from the trapped consciousness. This temporary solution gives us a satisfying feeling. But very soon we get stuck in our heads since the mind keep telling stories about everything it finds. Reversing this mechanism offers a permanent solution.
Don't focus on what you do or see, but on where you do or see it. At first, you may not understand the vastness of this space and you may get distracted by your thoughts. But slowly, you will overcome this and only notice how things come and go. With constant practice, you will realize that everything you experience is just temporary and that there is a deeper reality behind it, where you are the witness. At some point, this practice will become effortless and natural, and you will see things as they are. This sadhana can be called as natural seeing.
In this natural state of observation, one cannot find any
trouble or difficulty. You see yourself and everything and the whole world as
healthy and perfectly fine. Even if you look for problems in life, you will not
find any.
