Life post self-realisation

Enlightenment is an ongoing journey with various stages of awakening. After enlightenment, one realizes there's no self, no world, and no deities; only pure consciousness and the unmanifested brahman—the ultimate reality.

After a profound awakening, life progresses and individuals use various strategies to manage the surreal state while staying connected to their true self. This is why many spiritual gurus exist, forming various spiritual groups. The aim is to help preserve the discovered reality and believe that past spiritual practices and studying sacred texts can promote enlightenment. However, this often leads to a new identity illusion. Intense awakenings release energy and subtle knowledge, which some misuse for personal gain by showcasing themselves as sages, attracting followers, seeking media attention, commercializing their image, and relying on political figures for fame.

The wise opt for silence and maintain it throughout their lives. After gaining enlightenment, abundant time becomes available, occasionally accompanied by a surge of energy to engage in activities. The most profound activity is to contemplate truth, experience the state beyond death, and relish the continuous joy emanating from the heart. This involves allowing life to unfold naturally, remaining a witness, and refraining from identifying with life's actions and activities.

Recently, I met someone who questioned the need for physical activities after realizing our own divinity. I explained these activities belong to the waking state, which is temporarily real but ultimately unreal. She struggled to understand, and I didn't push it. Truth requires no persuasion; it stands out independently. Physical fitness, earning an honest living, enjoying life, music, movies, books, learning music, writing blogs, cooking, gardening, and dressing neatly are activities that do not create or reinforce identity.

Pursuing spiritual leadership and founding a place of worship with many followers can disconnect you from yourself. The world already has plenty of gurus, both real and fake. No more are needed. When I started writing this blog, I encountered both invitations and threats; however, I chose to disregard them. I'm just an ordinary human being with no high expectations for readers—if one person reads it, great; if not, that's fine too—I’ve done my part.

Importance of Money and Society in Spiritual Pursuit

A renowned master once declared, "You cannot serve two masters, God and money." This powerful metaphor illuminates the struggle individuals face in separating their desire for wealth from their spiritual devotion. Lord Buddha forsook all material possessions in his quest for enlightenment. In his era, countless followers emulated his path, abandoning their riches and familial duties to seek the same truth. This approach serves as a clear way to identify the presence of the ego by bringing it to the forefront, offering a stark contrast to other methods that allow the ego to remain hidden. In truth, the ego remains intact whether or not one gives up wealth, making it a superficial change that merely provides the illusion of ego destruction.

Truth is always present and just needs detachment from thoughts. One can be wealthy, like King Janaka or Emperor Marcus Aurelius, yet remain fully detached from riches. The greatest masters have taught that ego is a soul’s attitude, determining its expression using free will. Honest work for a decent life is important, and one shouldn't shirk responsibilities for personal enlightenment. Truth exists within us and detachment from thoughts reveals it. We don't need to leave family or jobs; spiritual success can accompany material wealth. I remember once a meditator remarked, "Enlightenment's real test is living within family and society, not in a cave."

My Guru is an utmost wise and esteemed spiritual master. He once conveyed that money holds significant importance as we are interdependent in this world. Even for something as simple as acquiring a matchbox, we rely on money and society. We cannot live isolated from the world. He stated, "You need money to buy bus tickets to travel from the city to this meditation center."

Our Physical Body

When I once mentioned my intention to join a gym to improve my physical fitness, a friend who was driving at the time promptly dismissed the idea, suggesting it conflicted with spiritual pursuits. For a moment, I pondered whether there was any truth to his claim. Had he met my guru, he would have come to understand that true spirituality is about being honest. My friend embodies the common Indian belief that spirituality means wearing saffron, growing a beard, going on pilgrimages, giving up money, and wandering like a beggar. I can't expect more from such thinking.

Spirituality involves leading a righteous life, respecting the physical body as a gift, maintaining its cleanliness, wearing tidy clothing, and giving it proper care. At the beginning of my spiritual journey, the first master I met prescribed specific physical exercises for all new participants. These exercises were designed to ensure the uninterrupted flow of bio-magnetic energy and vital life force energy.

My interest leaned somewhat towards strength training, and I did not adhere strictly to the exercise recommendations of various masters. On one occasion, my guru invited a yoga teacher to our meditation class for an hour-long demonstration, which did not go as planned. I couldn't understand why, but I speculated it was due to the students' weak physiques, difficulty in sitting through prolonged meditation sessions, and a lack of proper diet.

We are pure consciousness; we are not merely our bodies, which appear within our consciousness. The entire waking state is like a dream constructed from our thoughts. However, there's nothing wrong with taking good care of our physical body. It's possible to develop a habit of keeping fit and strong by engaging in the type of exercise that suits one's inclinations.

The material world related to physical health is vast and complex; the more time you spend exploring it, the more you realize how little we actually know. My teacher used to say that we understand the best ways to live only after spending a significant portion of our lives. How true that is—he was a remarkable person.

Five space suits

The temporary vessel we call our body, sustained by nourishment of food, is a precious gift from the divine. Whether we realize it or not, it is one of the five space suits. Though it doesn't need worship, it does deserve attentive care. This physical form harbors its own intelligence, interlaced with other subtle existences we sense through the rhythms of breath, thoughts, emotions, and moments of bliss. As our consciousness ascends, we sometimes perceive these bodies distinctly. Constituents of food nourishes the physical body, emotions move within the mental body, thoughts navigate within the intellectual body, and both gross and subtle breaths animate the pranic sheath. The essence of our spiritual layer is bliss. Just as we transport our physical selves from one location to another, each layer possesses its own wisdom to move or journey as needed in their respective realm.

In my experience, sometimes the mental body stretches out, as if like a soap bubble, arise externally from the chest towards physical world, expanding infinitely and occasionally traveling far. When death occurs, the subtle body detaches from the physical body much like a velcro strap being forcefully pulled apart. The pranic energy unfolds to separate the subtle forms from feet to head like rolled calendar. The affected areas instantly become lifeless, and the involuntary muscle contractions produce a sensation like pain as experienced by the observing consciousness. Interestingly, our senses become more acute and we feel more alive. Even in death, consciousness continues to observe these activities from a place of stillness.

Embracing spirituality means acknowledging every part of ourselves. Our spirit is pure, but our bodies need attention and care. Proper nutrition and exercise benefit the body, literature enriches the intellect, art nurtures the mind, pranayama enhances the pranic body, and spreading joy nourishes the spirit. Maintaining the health of these aspects is our responsibility. However, these physical forms exist only when we are awake; they disappear in dreams and deep sleep. In our true essence, we are formless and without a body, existing beyond consciousness. Once we experience our absolute state, we understand that we are neither within nor outside the body; the divine illusion projects a special effect in our waking consciousness. This special effect (Maya) allows us to appreciate the beauty of the same divine consciousness in various forms of life and non-living entities like nature and the world. Consciousness is what appears in all entities; essentially, we see ourselves as interconnected with everything and everyone. When we're still, we gain insight into our true selves and nature. This understanding leads us to appreciate all life and stop causing harm, realizing that we are all connected.

A great master of our era once remarked, “Without Maya, we can see only Light. Maya is a gift; it is not a curse or a limitation. A tree, a mountain, a river, even a stone is made of Divine Matter. Everything possesses innate sentience. Every object consists of Consciousness and has individuality, intelligence, and feelings.”

Independence Day

The most profound act of kindness we can offer is to help someone connect with their inner spirit, enabling them to view the world through a spiritual lens. This transformation feels like a rebirth, a deep spiritual awakening. Such an awakening eliminates fear once and for all, ending mental suffering. On this day, a person ascends beyond the natural world, transcending the constant flux of existence.

When I observe the world, I see people unaware of their intrinsic wealth, living as though they are impoverished. They perpetually chase after power, attention, love, and material possessions in their quest for happiness, remaining needy by either achieving fleeting goals or pursuing lifelong desires. They find solace within the narrow confines of their minds, looking through the keyhole of their persona, daily reflecting on themselves, striving to enhance or reinvent their destiny.

The most distressing aspect is that people are oblivious to their condition, so the notion of seeking a remedy never arises. Instead, they focus on self-improvement or becoming more competent sufferers, both in their own eyes and those of others. Who will tell them that everything perceived through the senses, including the perceiver, is essentially one? Though things appear manifold, they are unified. Everything changes, including the persona. When the individual itself is an illusion, all the accumulated knowledge, lived experiences, and struggles become meaningless. It is similar to a temporary life experienced in a dream, but this dream occurs in the waking state.

Despite seeming fully awake, we are actually ensnared in a web of thoughts, unable to rise above them even momentarily. We live our entire lives and die like animals, never truly breaking free. Many who claim to be spiritual often lead inauthentic lives. They recognize the need to free themselves from all ideas, yet they cling to certain beliefs as part of their spiritual journey or religion. They adhere to religious rituals and practices, fearing to transcend other concepts. They seek validation from others and the world, celebrating every spiritual occasion as a form of spiritual entertainment to appease their false outer self. This only solidifies the illusion and hinders the dissolution of the ego.

True independence for a human being occurs when we break free from the cycle of birth and death, rise above mental enslavement, and remain untouched by any circumstances. It is when nothing can unsettle us, when we are unperturbed, and when we know ourselves at all levels of consciousness. We become the gods and rulers of our minds, where the mind fears us, never daring to raise its hood or speak aloud.

A message to the readers

This blog is not for beginners or casual readers; they are advised to visit other sites. Those who believe in religious rituals, renouncing wealth, astrology, destiny, or karmas, or think salvation is not possible in this life, should also look elsewhere.

The author believes there is no distinction between writer and reader, sharing one consciousness. This blog is for spiritual seekers who feel stuck, offering insights from duality, non-duality, and beyond. It is continuously refined, keeping valuable content while discarding the unnecessary.

This blog provides no spiritual techniques, pictures, book recommendations, paths to join, spiritual masters, products, or personal life improvement advice from spirituality. Not Spiritual and Spiritual

Jesus stated, "Consider the field lilies, how effortlessly they flourish without toil or spinning. Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear." Those who attain Christ consciousness might wear everyday clothes instead of religious robes, embodying the teachings in their lives. Christ would have been amused to see people donning cassocks or soutanes and preaching his teachings.

The notion that individuals require priests to connect with the divine, and cannot do so on their own, is unspiritual. The notion that we are not pure but a sinner is unspiritual. It becomes a hollow practice to idolize the bearer of the message while failing to embody its essence in our lives. This applies universal across all faiths. While Allah is compassionate, not all believers practice mercy. Lord Ram and Lord Shiva embody love, but the extent to which their devotees exhibit and extend that love towards others varies.

Embracing spirituality does not require one to don saffron garments or adorn themselves with prayer beads or growing a long beard. Spirituality revolves around performing actions correctly and suitably, without excess or deficiency. Spirituality is facing life squarely all its flavors of ups and downs. Embracing spirituality doesn't require forsaking material wealth. You don't need to quit your job or give up your status to grow spiritually. The human body is considered a sacred vessel that carries us through life; thus, withholding food from it in the name of fasting is unspiritual. Though time is a pure illusion, deeming specific periods as inauspicious for meditation is unspiritual. Dwelling in a forest necessitates learning to coexist with diverse species. While taking any life is less than ideal, permitting pests to proliferate and occupy one's living space cannot be condoned. When living in modern world maintaining cleanliness and a pest-free environment within one's residence is a spiritual practice. Ultimately, at the highest level of existence, divinity alone prevails, there is no birth and death of any creatures.

Often, the notion that spirituality inherently embodies honesty, goodness, and tranquility might not resonate with everyone. Some hold vegetarianism as superior and dismissive of other choices, wondering if they'll recognise that true spirituality surpasses dietary preferences and resides in embracing one's natural state. The knowledge of Self cannot be traded for profit. That means selling spiritual knowledge by any means is unspiritual. In a lighter vein, it is also observed in common that individuals seeking self-knowledge at meditation haven, end up purchasing things, believing they carries spiritual advantages.

A great master near the Himalayas told me, "Usually, self-knowledge is undervalued and misunderstood by many. However, in the entire universe, including celestial entities, all beings diligently pursue this wisdom as it stands superior to all other knowledge."

Knowing Your Self

There's a misconception that seeing God or having a significant vision during meditation signifies the completion of one's spiritual journey. However, this isn't true because life goes on after such events and knowing oneself is crucial to truly finishing that quest. Many yearn to weave spiritual wisdom into the fabric of their everyday existence. However, this pursuit becomes redundant once they unearth their true essence. In that illuminating moment, personal constructs and long-held beliefs melt away like mist in the morning sun.

As numerous individuals worldwide pursue enlightenment, their transformation from seekers to the awakened mirrors Siddhartha’s metamorphosis into the Buddha, completing the mystical cycle. The Mundaka Upanishad's tale of two birds represents the journey of self-discovery: by acknowledging and seeking out the second bird, you eventually see yourself as second bird, shifting your self-awareness and ultimately realizing your authentic self.

Therefore, aim higher than a mundane existence and commit to living as an embodiment of awareness until you reach your ultimate goalYou embody the divine and it's your life purpose to restore your sacred divine state.

People deep in thoughts

When Christ spoke of being sent to liberate the poor, prisoners, and oppressed, his message, with its metaphorical depth, was not easily grasped. Just as modern systems are deeply rooted in thought today, they were similarly entrenched in the past, prompting Christ to use parables to convey profound truths.

Unwittingly, humans spend their lives caught in the confines of their minds. Our societal constructs—the education sector, professional arenas, personal relationships, and media—are saturated with thought-based ideologies. Human life is steered by thoughts, which determine ethics, values, success measures, codes of conduct, and occasionally religious norms that influence behaviours and life choices, frequently leading to a pressured and confining existence. Thoughts persist beyond wakefulness into sleep through dreams, and constant thinking trap individuals in a cycle of mental imprisonment, increasing susceptibility to depression or worse.

Recognising our true nature helps us avoid taking thoughts too seriously. It is essential to recognise when we are consumed by thoughts and when we experience moments of mental stillness. Currently, the mind confines us to live in dark age. Once our inner self start to radiate like the sun, we'll enter an era of enlightenment, guided by love and luminosity.

Clock is Ticking Down

Although time is an illusion in a dualistic world, it carries significant importance. Life's fleeting moments should be invested in pursuits that elevate us beyond the mundane. The superior of these pursuits is the divine. Unfortunately, we often make the mistake of thinking we have plenty of time available to us.

Within our awareness, time functions similarly to a Zoetrope, producing an illusion of life's events occurring across countless planes of existence. Thus, beings in a state transcending duality can foresee possible futures given their distinct viewpoint. Yet, such events can be postponed or halted by compassionate divine action. Numerous past events have been nullified to avoid great suffering. Somehow, majority of humanity mirrors the figure of Lazarus, having their lives prolonged by a divine compassion that forestalled a devastating war capable of annihilating them instantaneously.

It is uncertain whether the potential shifts in the magnetic poles and disruptions to communication systems from significant solar flares will occur.  We tend to notice and consider new opportunities presented by God only when our usual choices disappear. Recent observations indicate odd variations, with indications that the spin of the Earth's core may be slowing, stopping, or potentially reversing, leading to noticeable effects on the planet's surface. The warm ocean current that contributes to the lush vegetation in countries of the northern hemisphere could potentially face difficulties. The well-known mountain ranges might end up submerged.

The world is a manifestation of divine imagination, enduring eternally. Alterations lead to new forms of existence. Only our mental constructs and perceived temporality conclude. We evolve through this transition. People often seek additional proof rather than truly practicing love and kindness, hesitant to shed superficial appearances. We are in a time of great transformation as diverse forms of energy arrive on Earth to enhance human existence. This encompasses spiritual influences from the forthcoming eclipses and energies from Sun that is exceeding the expectations of the current cycle. Embracing love, forgiveness, unity, and tolerance can transform our world into an idyllic place reminiscent of Shambhala.

Realising Self through Meditation

Practitioners of meditation might notice that time tends to feel elastic during their sessions—sometimes flying by, other times stretching out. This perception occurs as the mind gradually releases its sharp focus and unwinds into a deeper state of serenity within our core being. This experience is present not only in our waking hours but also mirrors our dream states.

In dreams, one may live through extensive periods—days, months, or even years—only to awaken to the realization that it was merely a dream. Conversely, after sleeping for several hours, an individual may feel as though only moments have passed yet retain clear recollections from moments before sleep.

In moments of meditation, when we encounter a flash of our true essence, we often find that post-meditation, the external world seems to unfold at an unhurried rhythm, creating a serene and calming ambience. Then, we return to the busy world, lost in our endeavors and carried by the restless flow of thoughts.

Following numerous attempts and perseverance in turning our attention inwards to monitor our thoughts, we enter a condition of being mere observers, and in this space, it appears as though time has halted.

Beyond duality, from a higher viewpoint, time and motion do not exist. Only pure joy, infinite consciousness, and deep existence remain—constant and unchangeable. Beyond what we perceive is an inexpressible truth. You are this ultimate reality, not just a part, but whole.

Your present physical form is transitory; you are timeless, shapeless, and eternal. Meditation helps recognize your true nature.

Finding your path

People thrive on different spiritual paths; devotion might suit one while knowledge fits another, yet both can lead to fulfillment. Self-inquiry suits those who seek reason, devotion comforts those less inclined to explanation, and Karma Yoga serves those wanting to help others with no expectations. While some practices like meditation gradually calm the mind, it's crucial for individuals to recognize their natural inclination for effective progress.

As is often said, a teacher appears when the student is ready; a true guru brings peace and clarity, not intellectual pride. Their presence can still a person’s thoughts and maintain a heightened state of awareness over time. It is important to trust one's intuition in assessing the guidance received and the path taken.

Some paths of meditation require deep learning and complex techniques, drawing individuals into an ongoing cycle of acquiring, understanding, and processing ever-changing knowledge. This quest is infinite, similar to the futility of counting all the stars in the sky. However, those who devote their energies to achieving and experiencing stillness can gain its rewards sooner.

A wise teacher once said, "You've come to the garden to eat mangoes. How many trees are in a garden and how many branches each tree has – what is the use of such calculation? Eat the mangoes and don’t count the trees."

Realising Self through Devotion

Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa once said “There are many doors to God’s house, the main gate, the back door, even the utility entrance. No matter which door you enter through, you get in the house.”

Devotion to God is a direct path and the easiest way to self-realization. If one does not attain this deeper awareness through their faith, it may signify some errors in their practice that hinder spiritual clarity. This necessitates sincere introspection and modifications in our comprehension and deeds. The first step is to assess whether our devotion is authentic or contingent on the hope of rewards.

A revered teacher once said, "You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind." But do we genuinely apply this devotion to all facets of our interaction with the divine? We face internal struggles, with parts of ourselves hesitant to fully surrender to the divine in every expression.

There is ultimately one supreme spiritual being—whether embodied or not—pervading nature and all creatures. Some people often resonate with the physical forms of worship yet find it challenging to connect with the formless nature of their personal God. On the other hand, devotees of the formless may find difficulty in embracing its physical representations.

The next task is to recognize the divine within others, which when understood, helps us avoid causing harm through our thoughts, words, and actions. Finally, seeing ourselves as part of that larger divinity ensures we treat ourselves with kindness. Recognizing God in all things fosters a continuous and omnipresent awareness of the divine, both within ourselves and in our surroundings. Remain living in the state where you don’t feel the sense of other; come to a realisation those who were already dead, those who are presently living, the non-sentient things that you see around and that which is yet to born and yet to manifest, everything is God.

The Good News

Jiddu Krishnamurti once stated, "Because we don't know ourselves, we are destroying other human beings, we are destroying this marvelous earth." As we observe the world, the devastating impact of wars between nations becomes evident, affecting beautiful life forms and landscapes. However, these wars can cease permanently when we recognize our true essence.

Each person is similar to a mini universe, and their consciousness plays a role in shaping major events. In the realm of divinity, there are no punishments; instead, many past wars were postponed or canceled by divine grace. As humans, we should choose love and forgiveness over conflict. Shifting our focus away from mainstream media allows for immediate healing and transformation.

Spirituality is like a candy, while religion serves as its wrapper—rather than discarding the wrapper and tasting the candy, we often do the opposite. We venerate prophets and saints, but do not embody their teachings. There is a wisdom in the saying, ‘Before kingdoms change, men must change.’ Qualifying ourselves to live in a world of peace and love involves embracing our spiritual nature and becoming aware of our timeless, pure state.

If you follow the path of devotion, perceive yourself and everyone; everything around you as your personal deity. For those on the meditation path, be regular in your practice. The shift in consciousness brings various energies to Earth, including spiritual ones released periodically by the Sun during the current solar cycle, positively impacting meditation. If you pursue direct knowledge, refrain from social media distractions and worldly events; instead, anchor yourself in presence and vanish inside your heart. As for selfless service, don’t fret about the world—it’s merely divine play within the ocean of consciousness. The original realm of God remains pristine; everything you perceive is part of the changing realm.

When considering spirituality, what mental images come to mind? Is it the vision of someone seated in a sacred space, deeply immersed in devotion? Perhaps it’s the vast expanse of the sky above, the ethereal presence of angels and deities, or even the serene figure of a meditating Buddha or an adorned idol with garland surrounded by the fragrant aroma of incense and herbs. Spirituality encompasses honesty, the embodiment of goodness, and being calm at all times. It involves appreciating beauty within ourselves and in the world around us.

Despite the challenges of our present world, which may not always offer hope from our day-to-day experiences, there are other dimensions of existence that positively influence life on Earth. Due to the efforts of numerous divine beings operating across various planes of existence for the well-being of life forms on Earth, we can anticipate transformations within ourselves and among those around us. Thousands of individuals have already reached a level of divinity like Christ and Krishna, and this trend is likely to continue. You may encounter such awakened beings firsthand to your amazement. Over time, the entire world will be full of individuals whose hearts are filled with kindness and love.

Embarking on the path of awakening need not involve monumental effort; rather, it requires consistently embodying goodness and prioritizing your well-being. Consider integrating practices like exercise, yoga, or strength training as supplements to maintain physical fitness. Without any personal exertion, hidden faculties will be bestowed upon you by a higher power, enabling you to acquire new knowledge about living in a future where basic necessities like food, water, electricity, money, vehicles and communication devices are unnecessary—where humans will exist similar to gods.

Transition from human to divine

In the vast expanse of the ocean, a curious creature thrives. Within this aquatic realm, three distinct types of fish and two varieties of algae coexist. The algae, one dark and the other light, flourish at the confluence of fresh and saltwater in river estuaries. The creature itself remains unaware of its origins, yet it embarks on a lifelong journey, exploring every nook and cranny of the ocean in search of adventure, sustenance, and entertainment.

At times, the creature feasts on the algae clinging to rocks and mud carried by streams and rivers. Among the fish, there are three distinct personalities: the overly friendly, the elusive wanderers, and the downright hostile. The latter, a violent and furious fish, occasionally poses a mortal threat to our protagonist.

After indulging in copious meals, the creature sometimes experiences incomplete digestion and seeks solace in freshwater areas, where algae aid its digestion. Interestingly, consuming light-colored algae results in a leaner, lighter physique, while feasting on dark-colored algae leads to a bulkier, more substantial form.

The cycle of life continues: upon death, the creature finds itself reborn in a new body, its memories fading with each reincarnation. Gradually, it identifies with the fish species around it, adapting to their behaviors. When surrounded by friendly fish, it feels content; in the company of the elusive wanderers, anxiety and greed arise; and when confronted by the aggressive third type, anger consumes it, threatening self-destruction and everything in its vicinity.

One day, our curious creature encountered a luminous fish that glowed with radiance. Intrigued, it sought to accompany this remarkable fish. The radiant fish exuded wisdom, always discerning between good and bad, treating others with love, care, and guidance.

Approaching the radiant fish, the creature confided its weariness with ocean life and its lack of happiness. To the creature’s surprise, the radiant fish revealed that it hailed from the land and knew a way out. Despite the risk of encountering aggressive fish, the radiant fish remained in the ocean, driven by mercy and a mission to assist other creatures in returning to the mainland. Initially skeptical, our protagonist gradually succumbed to the mesmerizing persona of the radiant fish, choosing to follow its guidance.

The radiant fish counseled the creature to embrace stillness and self-awareness. However, this advice irked the creature, accustomed to constant activity. The radiant fish suggested seeking solace in the company of friendly fish, as their presence could foster calmness. Yet, it emphasized that achieving true stillness required the creature to swim upward toward the land independently.

Curious, the creature inquired of the luminous fish about its practice. The radiant fish gazed at the creature and graciously shared its wisdom: all sea creatures survive by consuming algae. However, there’s a specific weight—the creature’s original weight—that enables upward movement toward the surface. Deviating from this weight prevents the ascent. The practice recommended by the radiant fish restores the creature to its original weight and shape, unveiling the secret behind this technique.

The luminous fish continued to share its insights with the creature. "While the friendly fish is beneficial, it remains bound to the ocean. Attempting to take it to the land would be futile, for it knows that venturing ashore would lead to its demise". The immense ocean and its creatures provide us an opportunity to experience diversity in creation, and we can continue to live here as long as we don't become tired.  “Do not perceive yourself merely as a fish in the ocean,” it advised. “You hail from above—the land—where eternal love and light shine.

Consider the ocean as our world—a vast expanse where creatures—us reside. Within this metaphorical sea, the radiant fish assumes the role of a guru, imparting wisdom. The friendly fish represents a Satvic mind, while the second type embodies a Rajasik mind, and the third type symbolizes a Tamasic mind.

The two types of algae mirror our karma: one good and the other bad. The initial weight symbolizes our unadulterated, pure awareness. And the technique shared by the radiant fish? It corresponds to the practices such as devotion, self-inquiry, selfless service, meditation—a path toward self-awareness and enlightenment.

Beginning of wisdom

The journey of spiritual growth starts with examining the beliefs we take for granted. Commonly, we participate in spiritual rituals and practices without critically assessing them, adhering to them merely because they are the norm. Visiting holy sites, undertaking pilgrimages, adorning oneself with sacred garments or threads, engaging in pujas, conducting homa, reciting mantras, or forsaking worldly life—fortunately, none of these actions are prerequisites for attaining spiritual purity or discovering our fundamental natural state.

It's possible to carry out many rituals without being spiritual, while others may be spiritually successful through a simpler life. Considering God is everywhere, both externally and in your heart, question the necessity of visiting holy places or the need to pray when God already knows all your thoughts and occurrences in your life.

Why does your mind wrestle with responsibility and fail to unwind in meditation if God makes all possible? Who meditates—body, mind, or intellect? Outside meditation, who governs your life—you or your persona? Are you distinct or unified? Are you truly the essence of a human being, or just a mental construct adhering to the human model—a misperception for life’s experiences? When death occurs, what exactly is it that ceases to exist and who actually comes to an end?

Have you ever reflected on your fundamental ideas that seem intuitive but are incorrect? Breathing occurs without our control, although we claim to breathe. Thoughts emerge on their own, yet we say we're thinking. Emotions surface without our summoning, but we possess them. The concept of 'I' bubbles up, and we mistakenly attach ourselves to it.

Acknowledging that our lives are a tapestry woven from threads of false beliefs and misconceptions is a sign of true understanding; it heralds the dawn of genuine comprehension.

Shift In Consciousness

For individuals pursuing the genuine kingdom of God, a transformation in awareness is a cherished boon. You don't have to wrestle with the limitations of the world and your own mind and emotions. Instead, new spiritual energies occasionally accelerate our inner growth, offering support. With these newfound energies, higher wisdom becomes more accessible, assisting us in navigating the hurdles that line the path toward an era steeped in Truth.

Currently, our consciousness is heavily anchored to the physical realm, our mental activities, and our intellectual prowess—or a combination thereof. Due to deep-seated conditioning spanning millennia, many find it challenging to adapt to change and reconnect with their fundamental essence. To aid such individuals, various enlightened beings intermittently provide direction. When offered spiritual forces as support, embracing these rather than resisting is crucial for progress.

While meditation is beneficial, it is also important to engage in introspection and self-betterment. Recognizing one's own faults is crucial, as everyone has distinct areas requiring attention, whether it be forgiveness, acceptance, or overcoming fear. Seeing reality and others as they truly are is conducive to personal growth. Assessing whether one embodies serenity, integrity, and benevolence is critical—traits that are foundational for the forthcoming age. Reducing consumption of mainstream media may preserve mental clarity and thought purity. Prioritizing physical health, staying attuned to one's own body, and interacting with the natural world are key. Observing the expansive sky can foster the infusion of rejuvenating energies within. Practicing meditation during an eclipse can be advantageous.

A spiritual leader stated that if half of Earth's population opts for a new age lifestyle, it will be immediately realized due to a cosmic principle.

Dispeller of Darkness

Without an understanding of ourselves and our intrinsic characteristics, we are left in darkness. The guru serves as one who eliminates this lack of knowledge by imparting wisdom. On Guru Purnima, we honor the role of the guru. My teacher consistently reminds me that "God is the ultimate guru." Both human beings and God embody both formlessness and form. This shared attribute is encapsulated in the view that humans were made in the image of God. God transcends gender and components, yet has the capacity to manifest in any shape. As the prime mover, God initiates action without being affected. Unchanged, God influences the rate of transformation. While widely recognized as the creator, the challenge for many lies in acknowledging that God also dwells within creation.

Observing a predator's hunt is common on wildlife shows, where sometimes the prey's mother can only watch. Though heart-wrenching for her, all creatures involved possess souls—a fragment of divine essence. In a state of detached observation, these natural occurrences play out transiently against a backdrop—the 'screen,' which here represents God at a sublime level, a presence that remains constant amidst change. In the absolute sense, this screen too is illusive, with existence itself being the paramount reality.

Human life comes with a variety of lifestyle choices. We might live predominantly attending to our physical, social, spiritual needs, or seek higher aspirations seeking gods or the absolute reality. With free will, we have the freedom to follow any chosen pathway.

Many of us are in this world simply to experience creation, not necessarily to seek lessons, as we originate from the highest plane of being. Evolution isn't a necessity for us; our primal state doesn't entertain time. Possessing immense potential, our true nature is impervious to fear or anxiety—there is nothing apart from us to dread. Bliss dominates, rendering us content without the compulsion towards worldly thoughts. Our ignorance drives us to search for peace and contentment in relationships, activities, and ideologies. Once enlightenment occurs, one's inner self radiates like the sun.

A Genuine Master

Throughout history, authentic masters have graced our planet, yet often went unnoticed by the majority. Identifying a genuine spiritual master is like searching for a needle in a vast expanse of beach sand. Observing the world, we find that many systems have been compromised, their integrity eroded. Regrettably, religious systems often top this list.

In a playful manner, my master advises against embarking on a Himalayan quest in search of ascended masters. While authentic masters do reside there, they often inhabit remote, inaccessible locations. If you venture forth seeking a genuine master, be cautious of encountering counterfeit figures—some of whom may indulge in cannabis.

Prior to embarking on my transformative journey, I harbored a quest to discover an authentic spiritual master—one who remained steadfastly honest through life’s trials and tribulations. After years of searching, I encountered a remarkable individual: someone genuinely honest, peaceful, and deeply committed to the welfare of people both near and far.

In my spiritual teacher, I discovered all the qualities of an exceptional human being. I’ve never encountered another master who delved as deeply into the science of meditation, the state of samadhi and happenings of life in astral and casual planes of existence. He was in link with the pillars of Light, the spiritual hierarchy all the time, working in physical and astral plane, yet totally available for all the meditators. Much like a diligent researcher, he generously imparted knowledge about the Great Light, Light work across the world and other parts of creation, anchoring various spiritual energies; their characteristics, how to tap these energies and the knowledge of their use in our daily living. In essence, he embodied a living repository of spiritual wisdom.

He transformed our approach to worship, shifting it from idol worship to honoring energies. Additionally, he altered our perception of eclipses, turning them from inauspicious events to auspicious moments. Most importantly, he showed us that the spiritual path can be joyful and light-hearted; his knowledge-sharing sessions were often filled with laughter and jokes, rather than being overly serious.

As he approached the end of his earthly journey, my guru remained undeterred by health concerns. Instead, he reassured us that he would continue to care for his students from the astral plane. His parting advice to his students; meditators was to equip ourselves with spiritual knowledge and spiritual energies, preparing for the work ahead and wait.

Spiritual Awakening

A world teacher said that the best way to help someone is to help him become spiritual. A spiritual person see transcending the duality and follow his intuition. When he learns about spirituality, especially his identity and nature, this changes his whole outlook on how he lives his life. Such a person will excel and be resilient even if the whole world is judging him wrongly. He will be a universal citizen and do exactly what is needed for the situation. He will manage any life situation well and live a respectful and wonderful life.

One near death experience, one glimpse of eternal, one out-of-body experience, one Samadhi experience or a state of bliss can make a big change in how someone views life and make ordinary experiences less important. Such experience shows a new perspective that removes the ignorance and gives a bird's eye view of reality—spiritual vision to an individual.

My masters words still rings in my ears “Spiritual Enlightenment is a process that involves multiple spiritual awakenings!”.

Unselfishness is God

As individuality diminishes, inherent virtues naturally come to the forefront. A revered master once stated, ‘Goodness emanates from God, while evil is a product of creation.’ Although everything created eventually meets its demise, goodness endures. Despite the challenges of balancing meditation practice with worldly demands, it remains crucial for meditators worldwide to recognize the role of selfless masters who nurture them with spiritual energies behind the scenes. These unsung heroes serve as invisible beacons of guidance.

My guru explained to the students that a great master transcends planes, traveling from a distant realm to impart spiritual energies during their check-up sessions. These energies enhance our spiritual progress and elevate us to the next level if we’ve made strides. After expending all the energies, the master returns to his world and enters a state of tapas once more, accumulating them over thousands of years for the benefit of future spiritual seekers. This perpetual cycle continues, fueled by the master’s selflessness.

Countless masters labor for the welfare of humanity on this planet, many of them remaining unknown to the world. Their driving force is profound love. Some masters have attained salvation, granting them the freedom to dwell in a state of ultimate bliss. Yet, they willingly sacrifice this bliss to engage in the labor of tending to God’s garden.

My guru once asserted that unconditional love represents the pinnacle of manifestation, and if there exists anything greater, it is the act of sacrifice.

End of Search

Once, a student asked a greatest spiritual master, ‘How much time does it take for transformation?’ The master replied without hesitation, ‘It takes a second. One has to make up their mind. That’s it.’

Another spiritual giant of similar caliber once stated, ‘The Kingdom of God is at hand.’

Throughout spiritual journey, a seeker of truth navigate life in pursuit of the divine. It is widely accepted that this destination remains elusive within the current incarnation, necessitating multiple lifetimes to address karmic debts or liberate oneself from the bonds. As a part of their spiritual practice, many individuals engage in introspection to refine their thoughts, actions, speech, and deeds. Some believe that performing virtuous acts will lead to salvation through positive karma. In the path of devotion, people genuinely believe they will ascend to heaven after their physical bodies pass away on Earth. Meditators spend years progressing from one chakra to another and from one stage to the next, often perceiving this process as endless.

In the spiritual journey, one arrives at the destination without physically moving an inch. The distance is merely a mental construct. When the illusion of the false ‘I’ dissipates, the authentic ‘I’ shines brilliantly, akin to thousands of suns. Good and bad karmas are like clouds—both obstruct our view of reality. These clouds can be fast-moving, slow-moving, or seemingly motionless. During meditation, a person unknowingly burns both good and bad karmas. During meditation, the appearance and disappearance of blankness shift the meditator’s perception from the illusory small ‘I’ to the expansive natural ‘I’ for a brief moment. The consciousness, previously confined within the body, mind, and intellect, is released, allowing for a fresh breath in the naturally expanded state. Within the same body, the amalgam of impure consciousness radiates like pure consciousness, offering a glimpse of the absence of individual identity and the presence of witnessing awareness.

The path of devotion is simultaneously the slowest and most effortless. Love for God dissolves the mind like a sugar cube in water. Those who worship God seamlessly immerse themselves in the divine nectar. Each dip in this nectar purifies the mind, and as individuals draw closer to God, their character radiates even more brightly.

The journey of meditation involves seemingly effortless effort. However, meditators often encounter distractions and diversions. Some seek guidance from multiple spiritual gurus till their last breath, while others are drawn to mystical powers. Some devote their entire lives to venerating their guru and following the spiritual path, all while keeping their ego intact—much like a shadow cast by a burning candle. Some become healers, tarot card readers, or authors of spiritual books. And then there are those who establish their own schools of thought as spiritual leaders deviating from their original goal.

The path of knowledge (Self-Inquiry) provides the swiftest route to realising the divine. It distinguishes the spirit from the intelligence of the body, mind, and intellect. Like a sharp-edged sword, it cuts through impure consciousness, rejecting anything perceived as an external object and affirming that it is not the true self.  The result is immediate and instantaneous.

We can consider the path of devotion to that of a snail, the path of meditation to an ant, and the path of knowledge to that of a bird.

In God’s creation, every path leads to God—even the one that seemingly denies God, unbeknownst to the people. Swami Vivekananda once remarked, ‘You will be nearer to Heaven through football than through the study of the Gita.’

Impurities in Mind

Similar to how a cyclone forms over the sea, moves inland, and brings rain and strong winds, impurities from the unconscious mind gain strength through thoughts and emotions. These impurities then ‘make landfall’ in the conscious mind, driving a person’s actions. Despite this turbulence, there exists a calm center within the storm—an alert observer may notice it. Just as the physical body has innate intelligence, the intellectual and mental bodies play powerful roles. The mind governs both intellect and physicality, and when impurities surface, they impact thought, action, and speech.

Impurities don’t always originate solely from an individual; they can also stem from a cosmic mind shared by everyone. How people handle these impurities varies based on their maturity level. Some are drawn to them, some absorb them, and others reject them. The extent to which an individual is connected to their inner self influences this process. Our inner self helps us deal with emotions, stay self-aware, maintain clarity, and find purpose in life. A strong connection with the inner self enables resilience in the face of adversity.

This inner self exists behind the person (our outer self) who grapples with managing life through body, mind, and intellect. Our outer self—the aspects we present to the world—acts as a protective shell while we navigate external demands.

When a person acts from their conscience or intuition, they are already in touch with their inner self, mitigating the negative and lasting effects of impurities. However, for others, these impurities can feel like being possessed by a ghost, causing loss of control and harm to themselves and those around them.

Our true adversary lies not outside, but within ourselves. Within us exists the capacity for both goodness and evil. While we cannot entirely eradicate this inner darkness, we can transcend it or overpower it. People engage in various practices, each choosing a tool that resonates with them. Some opt for prayer, appreciating its simplicity. Others choose meditation or self-inquiry. Each method offers a unique path toward healing, transformation, and transcendence.

Purpose of Life

The purpose of human existence lies in recognizing the divine within and expressing it outwardly. No other purpose exists. In the ultimate reality, there is no cycle of universe creation, sustenance, and dissolution. There exists no distinct individual, no inherent nature, no personal deity or personal God, no birth, no death, no karmas and no reincarnation. Goals lose their significance when nothing happens in reality. Ultimately, nothing holds weight, regardless of our actions or achievements in this temporary ever changing world.

All existence is a product of thought. The fundamental notion that defines both an individual and the world is the ‘I’ thought. Remarkably, throughout a person’s entire life, there is never a moment of doubt concerning this thought. While the existence of God may remain uncertain, the individual ‘I’ remains a trusted and undeniable reality.

Individuals passionately invest effort in evolving into better versions of themselves across various roles—as friends, spouses, children, citizens, or leaders. These roles may shift over time, yet the unwavering ‘I’ behind them remains palpable and apparently genuine to them.

Depending on life circumstances, the sense of self—represented by the ‘I’—can take on various forms: cherished, adventurous, daunting, or burdensome. Life events evoke a range of emotions within the individual ‘I,’ including celebration, fear, shock, humiliation, fondness, haunting, and mourning. Amid life’s unpredictable fluctuations, certain individuals strive to realise their dreams, pursue passions, and enumerate achievements, finding gratification within their sense of self—the ‘I’. People leave their final breath, unaware that their dreams and achievements are mere constructs of thought, they realise that even their own existence was fleeting and illusory.

As long as the ‘I’ thought remains unchallenged, the drama of suffering persists. Similar to how one falls asleep and awakens in the morning, the individual transitions to a different body after death. This perpetuates an endless cycle of struggle. For instance, someone who dedicated their life to becoming a national leader or heading an organization may find themselves in their next birth struggling to survive an average life or relying on alms and begging. It’s not that life is merciless; rather, these experiences lack significance from the highest reality—the standpoint beyond mere thoughts, where consciousness remains ensnared by the mind.

A person continues to reincarnate, inhabiting different bodies throughout successive lifetimes, until they recognize the ever present reality behind the ‘I’ thought.

Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda, a sage who lived a long ago, continues to inspire millions of lives worldwide with his words.  Swami Vivekananda exemplifies a soul working on multiple levels simultaneously. While historical information about him exists in the physical world, he once remarked, “What Vivekananda has accomplished, only Vivekananda knows”.

The physical plane of existence represents the ultimate extension in the spectrum of manifestation. Beyond it lie multiple planes, dimensions, and interdimensional portals. Among these are the spiritual and astral planes, along with countless universes. Intelligent life inhabits all these realms, and certain masters possess access to these portals connecting different planes of existence.

A remarkable master, largely unrecognized by the world, glimpsed aspects of Swami Vivekananda’s life. He remarked that Swami Vivekananda worked hard in the astral plane for India’s freedom. Additionally, he worked with a great passion in identifying a batch of souls to serve in Shambhala, the mystical city. Finally, after his physical death, Vivekananda returned to an earth to continue his work in the plane of Truth, known as Satya Loka. Our Earth exists within the plane of Bhu Loka, where spiritual and malevolent forces have equal opportunities to assert dominance over each other during specific cycles of time.

In Swami Vivekananda, one can discern the essence of various forms of yoga—devotion, self-surrender, and self-knowledge. His teachings encompassed the holistic path that humanity continues to explore.

This article is a modest homage to Swami Vivekananda on the anniversary of his passing.

Self Inquiry

A child once inquired of its mother: If God created us, then who created God?

Curiously, we scrutinise every aspect of God’s manifestation, including God itself. However, when it comes to understanding ourselves, this pursuit is often dismissed as futile .

We rarely question our self-identity as ‘I.’ This reality remains largely unchallenged, with minimum discussion in schools, colleges, offices, universities, or even within our communities. It seems to be an accepted norm, silently and unconsciously.

The struggle for survival persists until we introspect and question our very identity. A significant leap in spiritual growth occurs when we cease to accept the inner voice as our own and resist following its narrative.
